PetrisConnect enables the use of a web browser as a universal business application interface and can be easily deployed across entire organizations. This middleware enables users to interact with data, functions and documents from any web client. The ability to extend enterprise systems to this broad base of users creates dramatic returns on the existing legacy systems and other information infrastructure investments.

PetrisConnect enterprise Web applications make it possible for a user to access functions, processes, data, and documents from any client environment that can support a browser: PCs, workstations, TVs, hand-held computers, laptops, Network Computers, etc.

The PetrisConnect web application server supports user-written, Petris E&P applications and the connections to independent databases using native as well as standard ODBC drivers. These databases include Oracle, Sequel server, MS Access, Informix as well as any ODBC compliant database. Petris Technology has also developed a unique native connection to the Unidata database. The ability to call stored procedures in your legacy systems makes PetrisConnect a viable alternative to replacing your systems.

An integrated development engine can be provided for clients who wish to develop applications using PetrisConnect. Classroom instruction and consulting services are available.

Universal Deployment

PetrisConnect features an advanced architecture designed to be transparent and efficiently handle user loads into the tens of thousands and beyond. A Web-based Administrator gives complete control over configuration, resource allocation, peak-use statistics, load balancing, and server management from anywhere on the network.

With its UniData connection, PetrisConnect enables the web-based application to make concurrent calls to the UniData stored procedures. It allows UniBasic level calls to be made and any length string returned. Thus we are able to replace the functionality of both ODBC and ObjectCall with a faster, more flexible and powerful tool, PetrisConnect.

Optional Integrated Development Engine

The PetrisConnect development system integrates all aspects of the Web application life cycle - content creation, code development, distributed deployment, and ongoing maintenance - to build cross-platform, highly scalable Web applications. PetrisConnect is the only Web development system compatible with UniData that combines Microsoft Visual Basic and Java syntax for universal development.

Server-based PetrisConnect programs use Microsoft Visual Basic syntax or Java to rapidly leverage any standard Application Programming Interface (API), OLE Automation, DLLs, Shared Library, Java Beans, Java Networking Classes or any third-party Java class libraries. Developers also have the power to combine JavaScript, Java applets, VBScript, or ActiveX controls for client-side programs. Data access is via ODBC, JDBC, or native interfaces.
