Petrobras Makes New Oil Discovery In Ultra-Deep Waters Off The Coast Of Amapá

Petrobras has reached another oil-bearing interval in the Morpho well (1-BRSA-1405-APS), which characterizes a new discovery in block FZA-M-59, located in ultra-deep waters off the coast of the state of Amapá, in a water depth of 2,886 meters.

The continuation of well drilling operations, following the discovery announced in August 2026 , aimed to evaluate deeper exploratory intervals and allowed for this new discovery, identified through electrical logs, rock evidence, and fluid samples obtained during operations.

The new discovery expands knowledge about the exploratory potential of the area and will provide additional information for the evaluation of petroleum systems and resource potential in the Amazon River Mouth Sedimentary Basin.

The analyses are ongoing, and the collected information will later be characterized through laboratory analyses and integrated with the dataset acquired during drilling. In the case of the discovery announced in August, the analyses already performed confirm the good quality of the oil found.

Petrobras will conclude the well drilling activities, proceeding with the evaluation of the identified formations, in a safe manner and with respect for the environment and people.

Petrobras' activity in the FZA-M-59 block is aligned with the company's long-term strategy, aimed at replenishing oil and gas reserves through the exploration of new frontiers, contributing to meeting the country's energy demand.
