Petrobras Reports On The Results Of An Exploratory Well In The Santos Basin

Petrobras reports that it has identified the presence of hydrocarbons in the pre-salt layer of the Santos Basin, in an exploratory well in the Aram block.
Well 4-BRSA-1395-SPS is located 245 km from the city of Santos-SP, at a water depth of 1,759 meters.
The well is currently being drilled and the hydrocarbon-bearing interval was identified through electrical profiles, gas traces and fluid sampling, which will later be characterized through laboratory analysis. This data will allow the potential to be assessed and future exploratory activities to be directed in the area. The consortium will continue operations to complete the well drilling project to the predicted depth and characterize the conditions of the reservoirs found.
The Aram block constitutes an important asset for the exploration of the pre-salt potential, particularly in the Santos Basin.
The Aram block was acquired in March 2020, in the 6th bidding round of the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), under the Production Sharing regime, with Pré-Sal Petróleo SA (PPSA) as manager. Petrobras is the operator of the block and holds an 80% stake, in partnership with the company CNPC (20%).
