The barge mounted power plant can be designed to run on both liquid fuel and gas and to incorporate adequate storage capacity for the liquid fuel for operating without natural gas
OPE Power Barges are an ideal solution for the following applications:
As a base load station for any coastal location.
As a peak shaving station to augment a base load station.
For power shortage areas wherein topography is tough for locating onshore power plant.
As a temporary power-supply, until a long gestation onshore plant goes on stream.
For immediate relief from power shortage.
The barge mounted power plant can be designed to run on both liquid fuel and gas and to incorporate adequate storage capacity for the liquid fuel for operating without natural gas. Additionally, the OPE Power Barge design can also be designed to support a waste heat recovery unit for steam generation as part of a project required Co-Gen. operation. Provision for necessary step-up transformers and electrical equipment have been included in the Power Barge Design so that the complete unit is ready for hook-up to the customer's power grid.
The advantages of the Power Generation Barge and its associated power plant as compared to onshore or coastal platform installations are:
Short delivery period
Assembled, tested and pre-commissioned at the works/yard, thereby minimizing the pre-commissioning time at site
Ability to be located in any coastal location, thereby eliminating the need for site procurement and development.
Capability to run on both liquid and gaseous fuels, depending on the availability.
Possibility of relocation to any site.
