The Bilco tubing handling equipment PrecisionTool™ Line slips and elevators feature the latest Bilco designs which reduce or eliminate pipe damage by the slips or elevators is unacceptable. The Precision line is especially useful when corrosion resistant alloy (CRA) tubulars are being installed.

By distributing the pipe load equally between each of the die teeth, a minimum amount of tooth penetration is needed to grip heavy pipe strings. The pipe surface penetration by a single die tooth is typically less than .005 in and greatly reduces stress concentrations due to notch defect damage to the pipe OD.

The fundamental concept of PrecisionTool Line slips and elevators is that each die tooth on each slip body will contact the pipe with equal force every time. This ball and socket arrangement behind each slip segment results in the dies being allowed to move in line with the pipe while providing superior support to the slip dies. This method will prevent damage to the pipe even when the rig floor is moving while the rig is heaving in weather conditions with heavy seas.
