Designs for new and retrofitted facilities focus on provision of energy efficient systems with reduced maintenance requirements.

Planning – how big and how much, questions which plague all potential arena operators. Startec can provide the background information to help you make those tough initial design decisions.

Design and Engineering – system design and equipment layout, floor plan configuration and assistance with owner requirements for safe engine room design.

Construction – cost-effective and competitively priced equipment and services utilizing the latest in refrigeration technology.

Maintenance – full warranty, preventative maintenance service contracts and control system service as well as system analysis and troubleshooting. We also provide 24 hour on-call emergency service should a problem occur. We carry a full line of the parts and lubricants necessary to satisfy our customer needs.

Management Consulting and Training – operator training, safety awareness and energy consumption analysis and feedback.

Our Customers

Our customers range from small towns, which require one arena or curling rink to large privately owned multipurpose facilities with several different applications such as curling, skating, and hockey surfaces.

Heat Recovery and Energy Control Systems

Startec successfully creates building environments that contribute to cost-effective and energy efficient operations by examining and ensuring optimal moisture levels, temperature control and insulation. Waste heat is recovered and used for Underfloor Heating, Snow Melt Pits, Resurfacer Pre-heating and Space Heating and/or Cooling.

Fully automated control systems cycle compressors, pumps and fans and provide energy saving features such as automatic setback ambient-based control and power consumption regulation. These systems are designed and maintained by in-house Startec personnel.
