The AutoTrak Rotary Closed Loop Drilling System is an integrated drilling and MWD system that provides precise directional control with continuous drill string rotation. The RCLS greatly improves performance and hole quality in directional wells, especially in geosteering, extended reach, and designer profile applications. The system can steer in any desired direction as the drill string rotates, increasing rates of penetration, reducing torque and drag, and improving well bore quality, and the downhole guidance system automatically keeps the hole on the programmed course.
