SIMMONS EDECO Appoints Niels Versfeld As Chief Executive Officer

SIMMONS EDECO, a leading global oilfield service provider, recently announced the appointment of Niels Versfeld as Chief Executive Officer, effective October 1, 2017.

Versfeld brings in-depth management experience in the oil and gas industry, with particular emphasis upon building and leading growth initiatives.

With 14 years of experience in the energy industry, Versfeld dedicated 10 years to managing sales, operations and business development for energy services companies.  Before joining SIMMONS EDECO, he served as General Manager of Gibson Energy’s Environmental Services Division, during which time he was instrumental in expanding the company’s businesses in Canada and the United States.  Previously, he worked as Chief Operations Officer for Palko Environmental, until it was acquired by Gibson Energy in 2011.  Throughout the course of his career, Versfeld has worked in a variety of roles, initially as an environmental consultant serving the energy sector, and as an Environment & Regulatory Manager for CCS Corporation.

A native of Calgary, Alberta, Versfeld holds an Honours B.Sc. in Environmental Science and an MBA in Global Energy Management & Sustainable Development from University of Calgary. He is also a Canadian Certified Environmental Professional.
