Small Change, Big Results: Enviro Vault's Sample Vault Uses Unique Configurations To Develop Multiple Spill-Free Applications
Enviro Vault Canada Ltd (Enviro Vault) is pleased to announce their new Sample Vault that utilizes their patented ‘internal chamber’ in storage tanks for spill free sample and chemical injection systems. The Sample Vault increases worker safety, allows for effective treatment of upset conditions and creates a spill free environment for sampling and injecting.
Evan Stephens, President and Principle Project Engineer at Integra Engineering Ltd., has used conventional Enviro Vaults for many years and it was a natural progression to use the Sample Vault.
“The industry is not stagnant, everyday there is a new innovative idea and Enviro Vault is another example of an interesting idea that has done a lot for the oil and gas industry,” said Stephens. “On some tanks we are using multiple Enviro Vaults, one to house valves making it easily accessible for truck drivers and the second Sample Vault to house our samplers, sample tray c/w blowcase or pump.”
Enviro Vault sees environmental stewardship as the cornerstone in all their tank designs. The Sample Vault is no different. It is an innovative system that allows operators to have ground level access to sample lines and spill protection for the environment.
“We take operator and environmental safety very seriously and anything we can conceptualize and customize to improve conditions in our industry the better,” said Russ Hebblethwaite, president of Enviro Vault. “We are at the forefront of technology in tank design and our goal remains to lead the industry in safety, function and reduced costs.”
The Sample Vault can be designed with thicker walls for 2,000 barrel and larger tanks. Ground level sampling and push back/injecting systems allow for year round use in refinery, tank farm and chemical applications. Vaults are now used for multiple applications in tank farms and closed systems and not just for truck loading and unloading.
“We are not just using the Sample Vault as a warm place to take samples. We are also using the vaults in combinations with blow cases or pumps to inject chemical back into the emulsions pads during upset conditions,” said Stephens. “Now operators can push the chemical right into the emulsion pad instead of dumping it in the roof and hoping it will actually settle through the pad. Operators can treat an upset situation in much less time and it is a much safer operation.”
