Sprague Energy Incorporates DTN Refined Fuel Services

Omaha, NE - DTN, a business-to-business provider of transaction management and real-time market information services, announced Sprague Energy's implementation of the DTN suite of real-time downstream supplier supply chain solutions including DTN Exchange, DTN FastRacks and DTN Guardian3.

Sprague Energy is well-known for being ahead of the technology curve in the energy industry. Now, with DTN supplier services, Sprague Energy can offer the most proactive service to their customers across the Northeast. By leveraging electronic transaction and supply data from DTN, Sprague Energy is able to streamline operations and realize company-wide benefits.

"We've set a high standard for our customers and are taking full advantage of leading edge technology to help us reach our goals," said David Daoust, manager Sprague Real Time, Sprague Energy. "Working with DTN has helped us realize greater efficiency in areas like trading, hedging, forecasting, customer management, marketing and customer communications."

"DTN has worked with Sprague Energy to successfully incorporate several of our products into their business systems," said Robert Gordon, chief executive officer, DTN. "Sprague is an innovative company and DTN is committed to developing products that can help them improve efficiencies while saving them time and money."

DTN Exchange powers Sprague Energy's new branded Real Time pricing desktop. Now Sprague Energy can deliver updated pricing information to customers, with features and functionality designed to help improve price risk management. In addition, electronic transaction data helps Sprague Energy improve overall forecasting and supply management.

DTN FastRacks electronic rack price discovery reports are sent to Sprague Energy to keep them abreast of the competition. Price information is subjected to rigorous quality control checks and reviews throughout the day to ensure accurate data and reliability. DTN FastRacks reports show each supplier's price along with price summaries and averages covering 280 unique products at more than 1,200 terminals in 360 cities in the U.S. and Canada.

DTN Guardian3 (DTN G3) terminal automation system gives Sprague Energy an at-a-glance view of terminal activity. Load and driver activity is logged to help identify and correct any problems that develop within the loading process. The DTN G3 makes it easy for Sprague Energy personnel to export customized reports to e-mail, so that customers get copies of bill of lading as soon as they are available. Electronic data streamlines supply management throughout the Sprague Energy organization.
