Subsea International, Halliburton Contracted for Key ROV Drilling Support Project

SubSea International, a division of Brown & Root Energy Services, has been providing ongoing remotely operated vehicle (ROV) services to support PennzEnergy's Garden Banks 161 completion program. Along with other Halliburton services, SubSea's SuperScorpio 2 ROV system was mobilized aboard the drilling vessel Ocean Ambassador to participate in the two-well completion program in approximately 965 ft of water. Other services have included pumping, service tools, lift frame, cased hole logging, completion/TCP tools, frac pack, coiled tubing, slickline and big bore invention tree and surface cleanup services. This contract marks the first milestone for the bundled service approach for Halliburton ROV services.

SubSea International, which became a member of Halliburton Subsea (HS) following the Halliburton-Dresser merger, has been in operation since 1969, and has been building ROVs since 1984. The new design 120 HP deepwater 3,000-meter Hercules and the 150 HP ultra-deepwater 5,000-meter Hammerhead ROV systems are among the latest additions to the Subsea fleet.

As a division of Brown & Root Energy Services, HS offers comprehensive sub-sea engineering, installation, and construction services, flexible pipe, and project management through its companies SubSea International, Wellstream, and Rockwater. The HS group currently maintains a fleet of more than 100 ROVs, six construction and survey class DP vessels, three construction class DP semi-submersibles, and an array of subsea production equipment.
