Teknor's parent company Kontron opens subsidiary in Sweden

Teknor Applicom Inc. today announced that its parent company Kontron Embedded Computers AG located in Munich, Germany has increased its European presence with a subsidiary located in Stockholm, Sweden under the banner of Kontron AB. This development is a logical step as Scandinavia is Kontron's second largest European market after Germany. From Stockholm, Kontron AB will primarily target the region's telecommunications business, a high-tech industry sector that already makes up nearly half of Kontron's overall turnover.

"Continual expansion of our European market share is one of our top priorities and Sweden brings Kontron one step closer to that goal," said Hannes Niederhauser, chairman of the board of Kontron Embedded Computers AG. "The telecommunications sector is strong in Scandinavia which corresponds with the expectations that the rest of the European market will outstrip that of the US during the next three years."

Kontron AB will establish its own product marketing and provide technical support and sales, strengthening Kontron AG's overall position in the West European market. Other Kontron offices in Europe can be found in France, Spain, Switzerland and the UK. Teknor Applicom, which heads Kontron's North American operations, currently markets its family of dedicated, high performance single board computers, integrated systems and software to Kontron's subsidiaries for distribution across Europe.
