Wood Group Gas Turbine Services Wins Contract With Williams Field Services For The Fast Track Supply Of Two Solar Saturn C16 Centrifugal Compressor Packages

Aberdeen - Wood Group Gas Turbine Services (WGGTS), a Division of international energy services company, John Wood Group PLC ("Wood Group"), has been awarded a contract by Williams Field Services (Williams) for the fast track supply of two Solar Saturn C16 centrifugal compressor packages.

Under the contract, WGGTS will supply within 20 weeks two fully refurbished gas compression packages to help boost Williams' US Gulf Coast transmission capacity. The scope of supply includes engineering design, compression staging, manufacture and refurbishment of the turbine, compressor and skid, new PLC controls and on site installation and commissioning.

Larry Stapley, Principal Process Engineer at Williams, said: "With changing Gulf of Mexico production and processing dynamics we have an immediate opportunity to benefit from adding compression capacity and increasing the range of flow options available to us. We chose Wood Group to turnkey the equipment design, supply and installation based on their ability to quickly deliver a tailored equipment solution and provide ongoing service support."

David Murphy, Vice President of WGGTS' Light Industrial Turbines business unit, said: "Our engineering group worked with Williams to model different pressure and flow scenarios, identifying the optimal equipment solution for Williams' needs. We are now using our fast track New Orleans packaging capabilities to fabricate both units within the twenty week delivery window."
