The 2018 Conference will be the world's first event focusing on how the rapid pace of disruption and transformation in the world's major energy, industrial, transportation, mining and construction sectors will impact the law and lawyers practicing in these spaces. Emerging technologies are increasingly disrupting every facet of life, including how cities are built and people move about them, how natural resources and energy commodities are utilised and transported, and how cutting edge manufacturing technologies will fundamentally change the environmental footprint of industrial activities. These changes, including emerging political and regulatory frameworks, in turn will have significant impacts on lawyers who practice in the energy, infrastructure, environment, and resources spaces. The theme of this Conference will be to assess these rapidly transforming developments globally, and how attorneys can best anticipate them and be prepared for success in advising their clients in this new world order. This biennial event, which attracts legal professionals from across the world, provides a forum for discussion of current issues in these sectors around the world.
