Drilling automation technology, subsea production, and unmanned topside facilities are being tested internationally, but how are those experiments developing and will they scale up to change the landscape of the sector? The SPE/IADC International Drilling Conference and Exhibition organised by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) will be hosted in Europe's largest oil and gas hub - Stavanger, Norway on 9-11 March 2021, for the first time in the event's almost 40 year history. Hosted by Equinor, the event will bring together international operators, contractors and service providers to address challenges, deliver improved performance and highlight emerging technologies and practices. Alternating annually between the US and Europe, in 2021, the technical programme will be curated by expert leaders from the drilling industry, along with an exhibition featuring the latest technologies and innovations. The organisers expect more than 1,200 attendees and 70 exhibiting companies from around the world to participate in the three-day event that will unite the most inspiring leaders and thinkers in the drilling industry.
